There is a high demand for students to use technology in my district. There are a lot of excellent computer math programs we have access to, but I don't have enough computers in my classroom to help my students have sufficient time on the computers to benefit from the experience. The five extra Chrome books in my classroom will allow me to set 30 minutes a day to work in a small group with students that are struggling while the ones on grade level, or advanced, use a program called Imagine Math. This program provides quality practice to help them reach mastery and continue moving forward from level to level. Chromebooks in my classroom will make the learning experience for all students more productive. The extra Chromebooks will also be very helpful when we research on different topics for the Science Fair. A lot of the students do not have computers at home so the bulk of the research is done in my classroom. For English language learners, hearing about science topics and seeing corresponding images is an added plus. More technology in my classroom will help my students and I keep up with the fast pace of 21st Century learning by making it easier to close gaps.
