I have 24 eager first graders. They truly mean the world to me and we have only known each other for 6 weeks but I have highest hopes and dreams for these students. Ninety-eight percent of my students come from low poverty and low SES homes. I use my spunky upbeat personality to encourage and motivate my students. They attend a public school in northern Louisiana. The ability level in my class varies from very low to very high. Most of my students do not have computers at home or books. I am trying my best to instill a love for learning and passion for reading into my students. A lot of them do not understand why learning is so important and necessary and this make my job a lot harder, but well worth it in the end.
