I work at a middle school in Brooklyn, New York. The student population is very diverse in terms of socioeconomic status. Some of the students I have take over many of the responsibilities of their parents when they get home including taking care of younger siblings. The students can be a handful, but for the most part, they are sweet kids who want to learn.
