My class is currently working on Leveled Reading through Technology. Initially, a Running Record test is given to each student to determine their reading level. Students in our class read leveled books online to help with reading fluency and comprehension. When a student finishes reading an eBook, they are tested online for fluency and reading comprehension. We can really use technology in our classroom to access a variety of reading programs that support eBooks. Additionally, we can use online math programs that help expose students to rigorous math concepts. The district provides several reading and math programs online but not enough equipment for each student. Therefore, currently I am unable to provide this technology to all my students due to a lack of funds in our district. If we can get our project funded more of my students will have the opportunity to read independently and practice with online math programs tailored to their instructional needs. My class is currently seeking two iPads to use with reading and math technology.
