My students are all 4th and 5th grade special education students in a rural, public elementary school in Virginia. Many of them have no access to technology and the Internet other than at school. We are a Pre-K through 5th grade school with over 65% of our students receiving free or reduced lunches. My students are eager to learn and are wonderful kids. They need to have many opportunities to practice skills in a fun and challenging way through technology. I currently have one student computer in my classroom. The addition of 2 Kindle Fires would allow students more time to research, read, and practice skills with technology.
