The students in my classroom are identified as having mild to moderate autism as well as learning disabilities, ADHD, and language impairments. Some of them love to talk, and mainly about their preferred topic, while others do not talk much at all. All of my students are at an academic level that is two years or more below their physical age. Some students spend a portion of their day in the general education setting while others spend their entire day in my room. The main focus in my room is to address their social, behavioral, academic, and sensory needs on a more individualized ratio; there are nine students and three adults. Our room looks different than others but the end goal is the same for all: educating each student to help them succeed in their own way.
