My job is new this year as a K-2 literacy/ reading Coach. I am coaching teachers on promising practices for students to learn to read by 2nd grade. The school is a Title 1 school with 98% of children receiving free meals. Students come in eager to learn and grow each and everyday. Some days are harder than others for some of the students, however they always know they are supported the best way possible in the school. The state tests indicate a reading proficiency level of 19%.
