This part of Georgia is one of the most enormously populated and ethnically diverse communities in the DeKalb County School System. This student body of 906 is composed of students from at least twenty countries. My classroom is predominantly Hispanic, Asian, and Ethiopian. Daily, they are engaged in differentiated centers where they interact cooperatively, think-pair-share, work independently and self talk as well as discuss and question. My students absolutely love school and always look forward to learning a new concept or skill. My students show their appreciation daily by being good listeners, working hard, following directions, and giving big hugs. They love to read books and write their personal responses. My students enjoy taking their library books home and thirst for knowledge. Every day I look forward to my student's drive and excitement about learning.
