I teach two classes of Spanish for Native Speakers at the high school level. They are students who all speak Spanish at home but few have had the opportunity to read and write in a meaningful way in their home language. My students are passionate and excited to learn about their cultural backgrounds. They attend an urban school with a high rate of poverty.
