Hi there! I work with 1st graders in reading and writing who need extra support. My students come from families who speak a variety of languages at home, so we spend extra time at school learning English. My small reading groups provide additional instruction for students with an emphasis on English Language Development. We read books together and practice the alphabet. They love to come to my room to read books, use the magnetic letters, practice writing on white boards, sort pictures and words on pocket charts and write stories to create their own books to support their literacy learning and build a strong foundation for future academic success.
