Guided Reading is a big and IMPORTANT part of a first grader's day in my classroom. During this time I am able to give individualized instruction to the students on their reading levels. While I'm working with a group of students, the rest of the class will be extending their learning from previous skills taught in workstations that foster reading and writing. By donating to this project, it will establish organization and routine during this important part of our day. Both of these organizational components will serve different purposes but achieve the same results, which is student independence. The drawers will hold the supplies needed to participate in that week's workstations. The book bins will serve as a child's personal library of books they have selected on their reading level.
