These students with special needs are in a low-income school. It is a diverse city school district in Upstate New York. The students have sensory issues where they need to be moving some part of their body most of the day in order to stay alert. The movement is usually with pencils or erasers. The students and I would like to direct the movement to an exercise ball to keep them more focused on the task at hand.
