Welcome to my class! I have students with multiple disabilities such as autism, attention deficit problems, learning disabilities, speech impairments or mental health conditions. Some students are learning English as a second language too. Therefore these students need to learn in a variety of ways in small groups to be academically successful. I use visual materials to teach them such as charts, white boards, pictures and games. They also need more concrete materials for doing hands on activities to understand concepts. I use pictures to teach concepts, daily routines, procedures, rules and schedules. I have a limited budget to make this possible. Students with disabilities also learn better using technology like I pads or computers for learning games. I would love to have more money to purchase these kinds of items for my classroom.
