My second graders are primarily of low socioeconomic backgrounds. Many are English Language Learners. Our school is a small public neighborhood school. Our school represents Kindergarten to third grade. My students enjoy school and learning. Many are beginning to read chapter books and thus need to strengthen their comprehension and vocabulary skills. These children beg to take home books and read through recess!
