I teach at a high school in the southern-central Wisconsin. My students are curious, funny, and serious about being successful but most do not know much else beyond their current home and school lives. Many of my classes are the lower and middle level performers on state standardized tests, so they struggle with reading and writing. Many of them claim they don't like to read. My belief is that, together, we can change that. I tell each student that they don't like to read "yet" because they just haven't found something to draw them in. I have a goal for each one of my students to grow by two grade levels in reading, and one level in writing-proficiency.
