My students are 99% Native American. Our school is located in the Navajo Nation on reservation land. We are a public school that is part of the Gallup McKinley Consolidated Schools District. I teach AP Language and Composition, AP Literature and Composition, English 11, Reading Lab and English 11. My students are bright and capable. However, they lack some vital resources to challenge them and provide more rigor. My students are curious, kind, compassionate and motivated to learn. They all want to create better futures. They are resilient kids who have overcome barriers that living on a poverty ridden reservation brings. Our classroom is a woderful place. My students make it lively and inspiring.
