The students in my classroom are an energetic, imaginative bunch of seven and eight year olds who are eager to learn. I teach in a rural, Title 1 school where living in poverty is common. We also have a large ELL population approximating 30% of our student population. My students learn best when they can use hands-on materials and games. They also need to be highly engaged through the use of manipulatives, pictures, sound, video or realia to hold their attention span and make learning fun and interesting.

About my class
