My hope is that my students will experience technology in innovative and exciting ways, thus increasing their desire to explore, inquire, and grow. Techonology is growing and allowing children access to technology will help them grow as 21 century learners in the classroom. Students will use the iPads to advance their collaboration and creativity in the classroom. While using apps, like Big Universe, they can work in diverse groups to research topics appropriately, acquire teamwork strategies, and respectfully respond to the ideas of others. Students will also be able to work independently on their own learning level. While independently using the ipad, they will be able to explore and read book on apps like Tumblebooks, Scholastic News and Big Universe. Students will also use other apps to practice Math skills independently. Best of all this can be monitored for undestanding and progress by the teacher. I cannot wait to see more gears turning in my young learners minds! Early exposure to communication, critical thinking, collaboration, and creativity will guide my students towards productive citizenship and success in our society.
