My students are from a inner city Minnesota school. They are children who come from high poverty families but are very excited to be in school and learn. They love all the new experiences, structure and adventures they encounter from the first day they walk through the school doors. Many of these children have not had the normal birth to five experiences. They lack in sensory, cultural, verbal, vocabulary, structure and organizational experiences. They do however, have the same cognitive abilities as any other child who has had the normal birth to five experiences. With your help, we can bridge the gap and bring these children to grade level and help them "beat the odds"! I appreciate anything that you can do to help my students!
