As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students on the autism spectrum are faced with several challenges each day. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to provide my students with meaningful learning experiences and design a classroom setting which nurtures individual learning, social, sensory and emotional needs. I often motivate my students through sensory integration, foster participation in whole group activities and most of all provide a supportive, safe and positive environment each and every day. This is truly a special group of learners and I hope to provide them with as many learning opportunities as I can throughout the school year. I know with your help, they can learn to engage more with each other and meet so many of their needs along the way!

About my class
