I teach an accelerated program that helps students catch up to their right grade, as well as an AVID elective class for students who will be the first generation to go to college. These students are highly motivated to succeed. We are a low income school with a high ESL population and depend on community partners to help provide our needs for the students. Most of my students don't have computers at home to complete research assignments or access the online textbook. Our school district has all kinds of online resources for our kids, but they are unable to use them without technology. Our classroom is equipped with one laptop that the students have to share. This makes it very hard to do research assignments. My students have expressed interest in being able to have a more interactive classroom and I am more than happy to do everything in my power to provide that for them.
