My students commonly reside in homes with little or no technology. For many of them, school is the only opportunity they have to use the internet for research or develop their skills using enrichment programs. Sixty eight percent of my students qualify for free or reduced lunches. Despite the high poverty rate, our school boasts a dynamic learning environment. We have the distinguished honor of being a National Blue Ribbon School due in part to the dedication of our excellent teachers.
