Most of my students come from low income families and many live in single parent homes or with aunts or grandmas. We have a high level of English language learners whose parents are not able to help with reading or homework at home. These children are great kids who just need some extra love, support, and a push in the right direction. They are eager to learn and excited about the prospect of being able to read by themselves. The only way to make that happen is by reading to them as often as possible and giving them daily independent practice. That is the goal of Daily 5.

About my class
