My exciting project uses hands-on materials that will inspire students to build and explore STEAM concepts such as forces, energy, and motion. All students benefit from STEAM education because it breaks down the gender roles and helps to bridge ethnic gaps. By exposing students to STEAM and giving them opportunities to explore STEM-related concepts, they will develop a passion for it and hopefully pursue a job in a STEAM field. A curriculum that is STEAM-based has real-life situations to help the student learn. STEAM activities provide hands-on and minds-on lessons for the student. Making math and science both fun and interesting helps the student to do much more than just learn. They will be able to use these materials during their library time, turning it into a Makerspace where students are encouraged to explore, build and create using cooperative learning and partnerships. I am very excited about the hands-on materials for my students! The K'NEX Renewable Energy Set will challenge students to build renewable energy models and learn more about solar power, wind power, Newton's Law and energy efficient technologies. The K'NEX Forces, Energy and Motion set will allow students to build their own models and learn about energy transfer, velocity, acceleration and different mechanical systems. I know my students will really enjoy using the Early Engineering Set because they will be able to build with construction sets and make a maze out of gears and other materials. Finally, using the Gravity Maze, students will be able to use mazes using ramps, turns and branches to build fun and tricky mazes! Thank you very much for supporting this project that will inspire today's students to become tomorrow's engineers!
