Our scholars are among the most economically disadvantaged in the state; 90% of the scholars attending our school receive free or reduced price lunch, with thirty percent of all Newark children living in poverty. These are the statistics, but our students are not defined by these numbers. Like second graders across the country, we teach sweet, incredibly hardworking,(mostly) focused scholars with big dreams and supportive families who want their children to have unlimited opportunities in life.
