My students have multiple disabilities. Many of them are early readers or pre-readers. They learn best with interactive lessons and opportunities to use hands on activities and practice. A smart board and projector would give my students the opportunity to learn through tactile response. The animated nature of many currently available apps would keep them engaged in their learning. The immediate response and gratification will give them continued motivation to complete activities. An additional benefit to my students will be to invite general education peers to interact and learn with them, maybe also involving some peer teaching in the process.
