The materials I have chosen will be used to help meet the sensory needs of my students. They will be used to help students self-regulate their emotions and focus in the classroom. With the variety of disabilities in my classroom there are many different needs to be met. Some students require music throughout the day which is what the echo dot will be used for. Some need a soft quiet place to go to calm down which is why I need the reading pillows, canopy and exercise mat tiles. The containers, art trays and water beads will be used to make sensory boxes. The pin art, bubble timer, chew necklaces and rainmaker are all going to be used in a calming box for when my students are over stimulated and need to refocus. The materials I have chosen will all help to calm and focus my students. For the most part they can be incorporated in to academic learning too.
