Our school in located in an extremely rural area of SC. In fact, our students call it "the country." We are a middle school with about 300 students (100 at each grade level). The majority of our students come from homes below the poverty level and don't have the necessary materials for school. We send home the list of required materials every summer, but many of our students come with little or nothing. Some area churches provide notebooks, pencils and book bags, but are not able to give the "extras," like colored pencils, glue sticks and scissors.
