Students in my first grade class live in a community with very limited access to computers and technology. Most students do not have daily access to a computer and haven't spent very much time on one. Parents can't afford Internet service in their home and more than 40% of the students receive free or reduced lunch. Even though our two classroom computers are more than seven years old, the students are extremely eager to learn with them. We currently have one iPad for the students to use and they light up with motivation to learn on it. They take turns and work in teams to create projects and complete activities.
