Curiosity develops knowledge. And my students are curious about science. Learning is fueled by Curiosity, Logical Thinking and Imagination. My goal as a science teacher is to fuel that curiosity. My kids are from an urban Title I middle school. Our population is very diverse with 94% of the students being economically challenged. In my classroom I act as the facilitator for their learning encouraging them to constantly seek knowledge. While clarifying the doubts of students, I guide them on how to arrive at the solution instead of just giving the answer. This not only helps the student solve similar problems on his/her own but it is also aids in exams and develops the student's analytical skills. I believe the best way for students to learn science is from actively engaging in scientific practices, such as asking questions, gathering and analyzing data, and engaging in scientific argumentation.
