My 1st grade students are full of joy, spunk, and spirit. You would never know from talking to them that many of them live in extreme poverty. Most of my students live in dangerous housing projects and come from chronically unstable households. Despite the challenges that these babies face on a daily basis at home, they come to school every day excited to learn. As a teacher, I seek to create an environment for my students where they have everything that they need to learn in a supportive and loving environment.
