Our school is located in a very low socioeconomic area, we have a high percentage of students who receive free and reduced lunches. Our students test scores have been low for several years due to the high number of special education population and the backgrounds our students come from. The students that walk into my classroom come from homes with uneducated parents, little to no exposure to technology and have a high rate of learning challenges. My students need various mediums of learning presented in the classroom and they also need instruction and practice based on their individual academic levels. One way we achieve this is through software programs that our district has purchased. The teachers in my building work very hard and stay late hours in order to create lessons and activities, based on the software data, to meet our student's needs. Having the learning software programs enables our teachers to provide practice and review for every student on their level.
