Hello! My name is Janet McGarity, and I teach Middle School Music in Chattanooga, TN. I teach 2 band classes, 3 general music classes and 1 chorus class. We serve a very low income area and because of this, it is hard for parents to provide instruments for their children. Right now, over 90% of the students use a school owned instrument in band class. I am currently trying to raise funds to increase the number of instruments the school is able to loan out to students so that more students can experience band class in middle school.
