My kids are remarkable individuals with incredible stories. These students come to the urban high school in Tennessee where I work from literally all over the world. I have students from Cambodia, Sudan, Lebanon, Iraq, Latin America, and the U.S. Our school is considered an optional school due to the strong ESL program that we provide for our international population. These kids come in knowing that they are behind but willing to work harder and smarter than most students I know. They want a challenge and with common core it's coming their way. I look forward to getting to help guide them through the changes as they become smarter and stronger students this year!
