Our students are city kids with various economic backgrounds. Many do not have access to the Internet at home. Many have limited English proficiency, having just moved here from various countries throughout the world. We are a public school about 90 years old and very large (800-900 students). We just became wireless for this school year, so we are slowly becoming technologically up-to-date. It takes a long time to make changes in our building due to the availability of electricians and such. Our students are motivated and energetic. They deserve to have the same opportunities as suburban schools.
