My students are extremely diverse but absolutely amazing 5th graders! I have students from all over the world including Tonga, The Congo, Mexico, and Puerto Rico. They are a hard working group of kids that aspire to be successful and achieve big dreams. Many of my students are English Language Learners and are putting in the extra time and effort to learn the English language. They are hilarious, sarcastic, dramatic, athletic, caring, loving, loyal, and most of all, good-hearted. We are a Title 1 school, which means we have a high poverty rate. Almost all of my students are from a poverty home where times are tough. School is a time to escape, learn and have fun. I believe reading is a place where students can explore new worlds and experience new adventures in their mind. So many of my students don'€™t have the ability to see new places and experience new things. I want them to have a passion for learning so they can venture to new places, even if they don't actually go there.
