The program that I teach is a prep program that designed to get students ready for a career in the animal care industry. It has strong emphasis on the students furthering their education into the field of Veterinary Science. We are a technical school located in northern NY. My class is composed of over 60 students all from diverse populations. The students range from military children to farm kids. I have learners of varying levels, some with special needs and others who take advanced placement courses. They are a motivated group of individuals who have a passion for animals and a desire to learn all they can about their future careers. The students receive a hands on education by performing labs, working with animals, and interning with local animal industry professionals.
