Even though my first grade students live in a high poverty area, they are full of life and quite adventurous. They are so eager to learn new concepts and their hunger for literature are steadily growing momentum. However, as a teacher in a high-need community, I do not have the budget to provide outstanding chapter books and reading materials for my students. My students and I would normally borrow books from one teacher to the next and I do believe that it is about time for my class to have their own set of books to indulge in.

About my class
