Dry-erase boards and markers are extremely beneficial to a math classroom. Using these boards allows students to show/explain their mathematical thinking and allows me to see who's grasping concepts and who requires additional assistance. However, the boards I currently have in my classroom are small and disheveled. Students often find themselves having to take out loose-leaf paper for additional space which defeats the purpose of using the boards. Receiving longer dry-erase boards will enable students to show all of their computations and explanations in one area, further allowing them to stay focused on their work rather than having to take out additional materials to do so.
