KLA is a title I school located in southern California. Many of our students come from low-income families and qualify for the free school lunch program. Inspired by the documentary, "Brooklyn Castle", the KLA chess club started out as a once a week after school club now has an every day chess class. The chess program was started half-way through the last school year and was an instant hit. With what started out as a recreational after school club has now turned into a USCF affiliated club which hosts tournaments. Help us reach our ultimate goal of participating in the 2014 USCF National Tournament.

About my class
