All of my third grade students come to school with an unending potential for learning. Many are proudly aware that they carry the hopes and dreams of being the first to graduate high school in their family. While others take for granted that they will be able to go on to college. Our school is one of the largest districts in the area, and serves a wide range of socioeconomic levels. Forty-nine percent are non-Caucasian, and nearly thirty percent are low income. Each and every one of my students deserves the best in education, instruction that will ignite a desire to be a life time learner! Early education should form a solid foundation on which students can build their future, and develop self confidence in their ability to compete, collaborate, and succeed within the society at large.
