My students are culturally diverse fun loving boys and girls with HUGE personalities. They get excited about learning very easily. My students attend a public school in which I provide specialized instruction in the their core academic areas as well as their social emotional development. Therefore, I have to be extra observant of their moods and activity levels to ensure that they are learning and using the strategies that best work for them---even if it involves sensory breaks. My students love to sit on therapeutic balls to get the wiggles out and moving around the room to work on various activities. They learn how to work independently and how to work in groups together. We learn how to use our words to express frustration. Yet, most importantly we take the time to have fun learning together. We take the time to also learn about our families and cultures and know that being different is GREAT!
