I teach 10th grade geometry to inner city students, many of whom have special needs. They struggle with abstract concepts and are able to better visualize spatial objects using various colors. My school has a technology focus as well and my classroom is set up to present power point and electronic overhead presentations from my laptop and I have liberal access to student laptop computers as well. My students respond well to lessons that provide them with opportunities for hands-on, creative and technology-based activities.
