Each week I will read a picture book aloud to the class. These books will not only help develop their literacy skills but they will tell a story about persevering that all the students will then be able to reference, creating a common background that we can reference throughout the school year. During these readings, we will discuss the characters, their obstacles, and what they did to persevere. We will role play, act out similar situations and draw alternative solutions to the story as well. The games I have asked for will give the students a chance at embracing challenges in a safe and secure environment. While the students play these games they will not only be working on their growth mindset, but they will also be working on social skills, hand-eye coordination, building their fine motor skills and teamwork. By donating to my project you will be encouraging a positive “I can” attitude that will be a foundation for their academic and social successes. Thank you for your time, consideration and hopefully donation.
