Our Plus program takes credit deficient 11th - 12th graders and we get them caught up in time to graduate with their classmates. Most of our students are minority, low socioeconomic groups and need our intensive remediation to graduate. They may have made poor choices at some critical times in the past but our program instills positive skills and patterns. I see our students as "MY kids" and I treat them with respect but also with positive discipline methods. They get individual support as well as team building skills that are so necessary for their entire lifetime. I grew up in a housing project back East and use much of my life experience to encourage and cajole our students to believe that anything is possible if they continue a life-long pursuit of education and learning!
