Many of my students come from families who are struggling financially and have to work multiple jobs to make ends meet. Because of this, my school is a Title 1 school and most of my students qualify for free breakfast and lunch. In addition, these children are trying to assimilate to the American culture and struggling to learn the English language, more often than not, without parental support.
