My Navy JROTC students, or cadets, are awesome. They come from all walks of life. Each cadet has his or her own successes and challenges. Collectively, these 206 cadets are a team! They all deserve to have every opportunity to succeed, not just in school, but more importantly in life. My students attend an inter-city urban school, but their behavior is far above what is typically found in such an environment. As their Naval Science Instructor, I am impressed and amazed by their dedication on a daily basis. They have chosen to be Navy JROTC cadets for many reasons, but the one thing they all have in common is their desire to make a difference in their community and our world. They have chosen to be challenged now so they can succeed later.
