I teach fourth grade in a rural, low income, public elementary school. Many of my students face challenges at home, including unemployed parents, broken homes, hunger, and transient lifestyles, yet they strive to be successful in the classroom. My students are happy when they are at school because they know we are going to have fun while we are learning. My students work hard because they know that I expect everyone to try their very best and that we celebrate those who put forth effort. My students are kind and respectful. My students are also individuals who learn in a variety of ways; some are musical, some are poetic, some are theatrical, others are mathematical, while some prefer to simply listen and observe. Each child is unique, and each is wonderful!
