Our school has a student population of approximately 760 students. We have a poverty index of 69.6%. Our ethnic breakdown is 70% White, 18% African American and 7% Hispanic/Latino. Our student population is somewhat fluid in that a total of 267 students either enrolled during the academic year, or moved out of our enrollment area. The poverty index has been steadily rising since 2002. The students at our school are generally well behaved and respectful. They tend to appreciate what they have and enjoy coming to school. We are working very hard to increase student accountability for learning by teaching them to understand their personal data and teach them to set personal academic improvement goals.
