My students are very resilient and full of love. In my classroom, we are a little family. I have very high expectations when it comes to respect for themselves and respect for others. Character education is a guiding principle in my classroom. We are at a building wide Title I school. This basically means that we have a very high number of free/reduced lunch students. Most of my students are from a low socioeconomic household. Regardless of my students' financial difficulty they are all committed to their learning and show great enthusiasm when it comes to learning. As a first year teacher, acquiring supplemental materials can be very expensive. After attending a teacher's conference, I am cannot wait to incorporate these texts in my classroom and to share throughout my building with my colleagues.
